Aim of the Programme

The programme aims to introduce Students to the field of the Hotel Administration and all its vital areas, by helping them comprehend, evaluate and analyse principles through the application of knowledge they have gained.

More specifically, it aims to familiarize Students with the different departments within a hotel unit and teach them how to operate hotel services such as, front office, food & beverage services and operations, customer service, housekeeping, event and leisure services properly and efficiently.
The programme broadens Students’ knowledge through visits to hotels and tourism related businesses.
Furthermore, Students will be able to apply the knowledge they have gained in theory lessons during the compulsory industrial training work placement schemes included in the programme structure.

Intended learning outcomes:

Demonstrate the ability to recall, comprehend, and apply effective written and oral communication techniques essential for business and hospitality environments.
Achieve a wholistic understanding of hotel operations and identify specific skills and procedures needed in hotel administration.
Identify cultural and global perspectives relevant to hospitality and tourism, thereby highlighting the significance of cross-cultural communication within diverse hospitality settings.
Expressing proficiency in event planning and execution, while also researching into the exploration of business ethics and fundamental principles crucial for effective management.
Gain an understanding of core business concepts, economic principles, and marketing strategies relevant to the hospitality industry, and integrating foundational knowledge in accounting, mathematics, and statistics to facilitate informed and strategic business decision-making.

Aim of the Programme

The aim of this Programme is to prepare Students for a rewarding career in hotel management operations. It develops Students’ critical thinking and refines their analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills as well as their managerial skills, abilities and competencies essential to all professional managers in the hospitality field.

Students learn about the social, economic and environmental context in which the hotel industry operates and the structure, nature and operating characteristics of the different departments of a hotel unit such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Customer Service, Leisure & Recreation, Event mgt as well as marketing and sales promotions.
Furthermore, Students are given the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired through work placement schemes organized by the College and approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.

Intended learning outcomes:

Critically analyze and evaluate contemporary issues within the areas of hotel management.
Develop the managerial skills necessary for managing different hotel departments.
Analyse the significance of providing guests with service of exceptional quality and its impact on the success of any hospitality operation.
Develop strategies for maximizing the occupancy rate of a hotel and increase the average daily rate and revenue per available room.
Analyse the leadership abilities required to manage a hotel unit successfully.
