Cyber Safety & Privacy

The seminar aims at leveraging the latest advances in usable security and privacy in order to design and implement a browser-based structure for the protection of minors from malicious actions in OSNs and mobile applications.

The structure will aim to protect minors against cyberbullying, sexually abusive acts and fake activity on OSNs such as Facebook, Instagram, OoVoo, WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc.

Learning Objectives:
  • Protect minors from malicious actions in OSNs
  • Empower minors or their adult supervisors with such control tools that unveil malicious social web information or online actions, and enable them to easily protect their sensitive content from unwarranted access by unscrupulous OSN

  • Utilize the latest technology in internet security and privacy in order to design and install a browser-based structure for the protection of minors using OSNs and mobile applications
